From One DJ Night to Thirty Productions: The Kalaluha Timeline

Company timelines usually get written backwards, once the outcome is known. Ours is short enough to write forwards, and it starts before the company formally existed: with a Kannada DJ party in February 2022. This is the honest version of how one night became close to thirty productions.

Before the name: February 2022

The first Kannada DJ party happened in February 2022 with NKM, Namma Karnataka Memes, billed in Explocity's coverage as being in association with Chethana production. No company yet, just a conviction: Kannada music deserved a premium club night of its own. By September 2023 the billing had changed in a way that marks the real timeline shift: Insider.in listed the event as NKM and Kalaluha present Kannada DJ Night. Somewhere between those two listings, a party had become a property and a production credit had become a company. That lineage has since grown into eight premium Kannada DJ properties, with editions like the 7 December night at Fandom at Gilly's Redefined in Koramangala featuring DJ Lethal A, DJ Nuthan and DJ Harry D Cruzz.

2023: the founding year moves fast

Kalaluha was founded in 2023 by Dr. Chethana R S and Vishal R S, and the founding year did not ease in gently. On 7 October 2023, Padma Shri Kailash Kher and Band Kailasa played Lakeside at Orion Mall at Brigade Gateway, with RED FM as radio partner and Rahul Dit-O opening. A Padma Shri artist, a landmark open-air venue, a major radio partner: the ambition level was declared in month one of public operations.

2024 and 2025: range becomes the signature

On 11 May 2024 came the night that put the company on the city's map: Shreya Ghoshal's All Hearts Tour at New Horizon College of Engineering, presented by Superhits 93.5 RED FM and Kalaluha under RED LIVE in Concert. Sold out. The same year, the first ISKCON Sri Krishna Janmashtami production ran at KTPO Whitefield with Jana Small Finance Bank as title sponsor, returning in 2025, with artists across editions including Sooryagayathri, Siddhartha Belmannu and Maanya Arora.

Then 2025 compressed the range into a single month. On 15 August, Sid Sriram performed live for Krishna Janmashtami at KTPO, presented by ISKCON Hare Krishna Dham. On 23 August, two shows on one date: Hiphop Tamizha's Return of the Dragon Home Edition at NICE Grounds, with first ever multilingual Kannada collaborations, and Abhijeet Bhattacharya's Melody Milap with host Raghav Juyal. Around these sat the properties: Appu Cup Season 02, the Kannada celebrity cricket property in memory of Puneeth Rajkumar; Hip Hop Kannadigaru at The Leela Palace with its Retro to Metro theme; Akcent at RCB Bar and Cafe, an international act produced end to end.

2026 and the road ahead

The calendar keeps reaching forward. Crazy Brahma, the tribute to V. Ravichandran and Hamsalekha, is set for 30 May 2026 at JK Grand Arena Kengeri, already covered by Kannada dailies including Vishwavani, Udayavani and Kannada Prabha. Nandagovindam Signature Edition 2026 follows on 18 July at Royal Tripura Vasini Palace Grounds, marking 25 years of Nandagovindam Bhajans with orchestral arrangements under music director Sharreth. Beyond that sits the roadmap of original IPs: Music from the Valley with Pandit Rahul Sharma, Yakshagana Reformed, Chitramma Live in Concert.

The cumulative line: close to thirty productions since 2023, more than 3.5 lakh tickets sold, over Rs 20 crore in combined ticketing and brand-partnership value. But the number we find most telling is the first one on the timeline: one DJ night, produced with enough care that everything else became possible.
