Producing at KTPO Whitefield: Kalaluha's Home for Devotional Scale

Some venues you produce at once and move on. Others become part of your company's story. KTPO Convention Centre in Whitefield has become the latter for Kalaluha: the ground where we have returned edition after edition for some of our largest devotional productions, and where thousands of devotees have gathered under our stages. If you are considering KTPO for an event, here is what we have learnt from producing there.

What the venue offers a producer

KTPO sits in Whitefield, in the heart of east Bengaluru's tech corridor, which matters more than it might seem. A large share of the city's audience lives and works on that side of town, and a venue they can reach without crossing the city changes attendance behaviour. As a convention centre, KTPO gives a producer the fundamentals that open grounds cannot: defined halls, manageable access and an infrastructure baseline to build on. For productions that need controlled entry, structured crowd movement and an environment you can fully design, that baseline is worth a great deal. Our devotional productions there have involved darshan queues, annadana at scale and midnight ritual surges, and the venue's structure helped us hold all of it safely.

The Janmashtami editions

Kalaluha has produced Sri Krishna Janmashtami with ISKCON at KTPO Whitefield across two editions, 2024 and 2025, with Jana Small Finance Bank as title sponsor. The programming across editions carried real devotional weight: Sooryagayathri, whose Vishnu Sahasranamam videos have a massive online following, Hindustani vocalist Siddhartha Belmannu of the Kirana and Gwalior gharanas, and Maanya Arora, whose bhajans appear on T-Series and Saregama. The nights ran the full traditional arc: Vedic chants, culturals, midnight arati, annadana and abhishekam. Producing the same festival at the same venue in consecutive years is a privilege; every lesson from the first edition compounds into the second.

Sid Sriram on Janmashtami

The most recent landmark came on 15 August 2025, when Sid Sriram performed live at KTPO on Krishna Janmashtami, presented by ISKCON Hare Krishna Dham and staged in support of the Hare Krishna Dham landmark initiative in Whitefield. Sriram brought a rare profile to a devotional stage: an A.R. Rahman protege, Berklee-trained, the first South Indian artist to play Coachella, with more than 3.8 billion streams and hits like Thalli Pogathey, Inkem Inkem and Samajavaragamana. His Carnatic-meets-contemporary voice in front of thousands of devotees was exactly the kind of meeting point Kalaluha exists to create, and KTPO held the scale of it.

Why we keep coming back

A venue relationship deepens with repetition. By the third major production at KTPO we knew its access points, its rhythms and its quirks the way you know a rehearsal room, and that familiarity translates directly into safer, smoother nights for the audience. For devotional work in particular, where crowd care at scale is the first success metric, producing at a known venue is a genuine advantage.
