Appu Cup Season 02 carried celebrity cricket into full production territory: a Kannada celebrity sports property staged in the memory of Puneeth Rajkumar, with the Gandhadha Gudi Warriors, the team owned by Kalaluha founder Dr. Chethana R S, taking the field under captain Bhuvan Gowda.
Kalaluha owns and runs three Kannada celebrity sports reality properties, and Appu Cup is the flagship: league structure, team and celebrity management, sponsorship and broadcast packaging, and match days produced like shows, with anthems, entrances and entertainment built around the cricket.
