Music from the Valley: Vishal R S and Kalaluha's Original IPs

There is a moment in every production company's life when it stops only staging other people's tours and starts creating shows that exist nowhere else. For Kalaluha, that moment has a name: Music from the Valley. And it has an architect: Vishal R S, co-founder and Head of Strategy, Finance and Operations, who plans the company's original IPs.
What Music from the Valley is
Music from the Valley is a Kashmir-rooted, ten-city premium live experience with santoor maestro Pandit Rahul Sharma. Every word in that description is a decision. Kashmir-rooted anchors the show in a specific place and its musical tradition rather than a generic concert format. Ten cities makes it a touring property, not a one-night event. Premium sets the production standard. And the santoor, in the hands of a maestro, gives the experience an instrument whose sound is inseparable from the valley it comes from.
It is a pure expression of Kalaluha's founding mission: to bring India's art forms, music and stories onto bigger stages. The santoor has the art, Kashmir has the story, and the IP builds the bigger stage.
Why IPs, and why now
Vishal's method explains the move. He asks three questions of every show: Can this be sharper? Can this mean more? Can this outlive a single night? A produced tour answers the first two; only an owned IP fully answers the third. When you create the property, you own its future: its returns, its cities, its editions.
Kalaluha has already proven it can build things that repeat. Eight premium Kannada DJ properties grew from a lineage that began with Bengaluru's first Kannada DJ party in February 2022. The ISKCON Janmashtami productions at KTPO Whitefield have run 2024 and 2025 editions. Appu Cup is in Season 02, with Dr. Chethana R S owning the Gandhadha Gudi Warriors. Original concert IPs are the natural next rung on that ladder.
The roadmap beyond the valley
Music from the Valley leads the slate, but it does not travel alone. Kalaluha's public roadmap also lists Yakshagana, Reformed and Chitramma, Live in Concert, along with unannounced names and collaborations still forming. Notice the pattern: each named IP takes a rooted Indian form, whether Kashmiri santoor or coastal Karnataka's Yakshagana, and reimagines it for a premium live audience.
It matters that the person planning these properties can read music as well as spreadsheets. Vishal holds a Trinity College London Grade 8 in music theory, the top of that examination ladder, alongside his IIT Roorkee education and his work as a virtual CFO managing a platform with over Rs 30 crore under management. IP creation lives exactly at that intersection: the artistic judgement to know which traditions can carry a big stage, and the financial judgement to build a vehicle that can tour ten cities without breaking.
Since 2023, Kalaluha has staged close to thirty productions and sold more than 3.5 lakh tickets by producing brilliantly for others. The original IP slate is the company betting that same machinery on ideas it owns outright.
