Music from the Valley: Kalaluha's Next Original IP

There is a difference between producing shows and creating them. A produced show borrows its meaning from an artist's existing catalogue and tour. An original IP has to earn its meaning from scratch: the concept, the name, the staging language, the reason it exists. Music from the Valley is Kalaluha's next step into that harder territory, a Kashmir-rooted, ten-city premium live experience built around santoor maestro Pandit Rahul Sharma.
Why Kashmir, why the santoor
The santoor is the sound most listeners reach for when they imagine Kashmir, and Pandit Rahul Sharma is one of its foremost living voices. Building a premium live experience around that instrument and that lineage is a statement of intent that maps directly onto Kalaluha's founding mission: to bring India's art forms, music and stories onto bigger stages. The valley has stories and a sound the whole country recognises, and Music from the Valley is designed to carry them into rooms across India with the production values they deserve. Ten cities is a deliberate ambition. An IP proves itself not in one flagship night but in its ability to travel, to hold its identity in city after city.
The mind behind the IP
Music from the Valley sits in the part of Kalaluha shaped by co-founder Vishal R S, who heads strategy, finance and operations. His background is unusual for live entertainment: an IIT Roorkee alumnus who started his professional life before turning eighteen, runs a money-management platform with over Rs 30 crore under management, and advises companies as a virtual CFO. He also holds Trinity College London Grade 8 in music theory, which means the person modelling the economics of a ten-city tour can also read the score. His method is a set of three questions applied to every idea: Can this be sharper? Can this mean more? Can this outlive a single night? Music from the Valley is what happens when an idea keeps answering yes.
From produced shows to owned stories
Kalaluha's record since 2023 covers close to thirty productions, more than 3.5 lakh tickets and over Rs 20 crore in combined ticketing and brand-partnership value, built largely on staging other people's music brilliantly: a sold-out Shreya Ghoshal night, Kailash Kher by the lakeside, Sid Sriram for Janmashtami. Original IPs are the natural next chapter, and Music from the Valley headlines a roadmap that also includes Yakshagana, Reformed and Chitramma, Live in Concert. Owning the IP means owning the responsibility for every creative decision, which is exactly the kind of pressure this team was built for.
An empty stage is our favourite starting point, and Music from the Valley begins from the emptiest one of all: no existing tour template, no borrowed format, just a valley, an instrument and a maestro. Follow the roadmap as it unfolds on our what's next section, read about the co-founder architecting it on Vishal R S's page, and see the production standards it will inherit across our work and services. Ten cities are waiting. The santoor will speak for the valley.
