Close to Thirty Productions, 3.5 Lakh Tickets: The Numbers Behind Kalaluha

Kalaluha was founded in Bengaluru in 2023 by Dr. Chethana R S and Vishal R S. Three numbers describe what has happened since: close to thirty productions, more than 3.5 lakh tickets sold, and over Rs 20 crore in combined ticketing and brand-partnership value. Vishal R S, Co-Founder and Head of Strategy, watches these numbers daily. Here is how each one should be read.

Close to thirty productions

The first number measures repeatability. One successful show can be a fluke. Close to thirty productions in three years is a system: a way of budgeting, booking, staffing and delivering that survives contact with reality again and again.

The evidence sits in the slate. ISKCON's Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at KTPO ran in both 2024 and 2025, and a partner that comes back is the strongest audit a production company can pass. The formats range from Akcent Live at RCB Bar and Cafe to Hip Hop Tamizha at NICE Grounds. Different rooms, different scales, same machinery.

More than 3.5 lakh tickets

The second number measures trust. A ticket is not an impression or a view. It is a person who paid money, crossed the city and gave the company an evening of their life. More than 3.5 lakh people have made that decision since 2023.

Ticket volume also compounds. Every well-run night makes the next on-sale easier, because the audience remembers who delivered. The sold-out Shreya Ghoshal All Hearts Tour, staged with Superhits 93.5 RED FM under RED LIVE in May 2024, did not just fill a venue. It raised the baseline of what the market expects from the name on the poster.

Over Rs 20 crore in combined value

The third number measures structure. It combines two revenue engines: ticketing and brand partnerships. A production company that depends on tickets alone is fragile, because one soft on-sale can sink a season. Partnerships are the second engine, and Rs 20 crore of combined value says both engines fire.

The two engines also discipline each other. Ticket demand proves the audience is real, which strengthens every partnership conversation. Partner support strengthens the production, which improves the ticket experience. Read together, the figure is not vanity. It is evidence that the flywheel turns.

What the numbers leave out

Numbers describe the past. The plan sits ahead of them. Vishal plans Kalaluha's original IPs as long-running cultural properties: Appu Cup, Indian Bowling League, Television Cricket League, Kannada DJ Night, and next, Music from the Valley, a ten-city premium live experience rooted in Kashmir, featuring santoor maestro Pandit Rahul Sharma.

His three questions of every project explain why the numbers exist at all. Can this be sharper? Can this mean more? Can this outlive a single night? Close to thirty productions answered the first. A city of returning audiences answered the second. The IP slate is how the third gets answered next. The numbers behind Kalaluha are a floor, not a ceiling, and the strategy head treats them exactly that way.
